Ally & Lochie’s Chic White Wedding: A Celebration Of Love, Fun, And Personalisation

On a day bathed in the golden light of an incredible Stonehaven sunset, Ally and Lochie said “I do”, surrounded by a perfect blend of timeless elegance and high-energy fun.Their celebration was a true reflection of their journey – from meeting at the Leopold Footy Club all those years back in 2018, to a romantic 30th birthday proposal through a sign off in a birthday card reading “your fiancé, Lochie.” As Ally looked up from the card, Lochie was down on one knee, marking the start of their next big adventure.

A Modern Aesthetic With a Personal Twist

The inspiration for the day was a sleek, all-white modern aesthetic. Ally and Lochie wanted a look that was timeless and elegant. They wove their personalities into the decor with a personalised backdrop, custom number plates on their arrival vintage Ford, and even “doof sticks” to ensure the unique, fun vibes were front and center.

The versatile spaces at Rocklea Farm provided the perfect canvas for this vision, allowing the couple to handpick elements that felt uniquely “them”. For their Friday celebration on the 20th of March 2026 , they chose a cocktail-style wedding that hosted approximately 132 guests.

Emotive Moments and Cultural Traditions

For Ally, the highlight of the day was the walk down the aisle toward a waiting Lochie – a moment of pure connection and emotion- and the dancefloor! Music played a starring role in their narrative, with Justin Bieber’s “Lifetime” setting the tone for the ceremony, while the couple exited the lawn to the classic sounds of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams”.

The celebration also paid beautiful homage to Ally’s Serbian background. Traditional Serbian dancing was a massive hit, bringing a vibrant, soulful energy to the dancefloor. The ceremony itself was officiated by the talented and enthusiastic Kahani, who is a crowd favourite here for bringing the energy and heart to any ceremony. 

Cocktail Style Dishes & Drinks

One of the best parts of a Rocklea wedding is the flexible catering. You aren’t stuck with one specific menu; you have the freedom to choose a caterer, or range of caterers, that fit your budget and style. Ally and Lochie opted for a relaxed cocktail-style mains menu featuring a lineup of local legends.

JR’s Coffee Lounge provided a grazing table and sandwiches to kick things off , followed by canapés and cocktail mains from Gypsy Burger, as well as woodfired pizzas for cocktail mains from Pete’s Woodfire Pizza. The feedback was unanimous – the food was “10/10,” with many guests joking that there was almost too much incredible food to choose from! To keep the spirits high, Havana Caravan Bar managed the beverage service, including a special cocktail half-hour from 8:30 pm to 9:00 pm which was a hit during the dancefloor. 

Planning Without the Stress

Even though we are a DIY-friendly venue, we help you all along your planning journey from answering all your questions at your first group tour here, to our final email checking that you had an unforgettable wedding experience before you set off for your honeymoon. Ally and Lochie were blown away by the “above and beyond” care provided by the Rocklea staff, from Simone’s thoughtful guidance during the planning stages, to Dave’s industry expertise shown on the day, and Glen’s care and attention to make sure the couple had a quiet 10 minutes to themselves, which was such a special and thoughtful touch amongst the chaos of the day. 

We easily coordinated with the couples Furniture Hire vendor – Friday Hire, who were a pleasure to communicate with, and work with on the day before their wedding. These touches of white helped bring Ally and Lochie’s modern, all-white aesthetic to life.

Ally’s Words of Wisdom:

“Enjoy every moment of it! It can feel overwhelming at times, but you only get to do this once, so really take it all in – even the smallest little tasks along the way. Most importantly, make sure your day reflects you as a couple. You don’t have to follow trends or do what everyone else is doing. If it feels right and makes you happy, that’s all that matters. And definitely take a dance lesson together… it’s way more fun than you think!”
