Colourful Florals and Heartfelt Moments: Eliza & Jay’s Vibrant Rocklea Celebration

Eliza & Jay
Personalised. Unforgettable. Yours. At Rocklea Farm, we truly believe that every wedding should be a genuine reflection of a couple’s unique story. For Eliza and Jay, that story began over a decade ago when they were just sixteen years old. What started as a cheeky message sent by a mutual friend off Eliza’s phone in 2014 turned into a lifetime of communication – they haven’t missed a single day of talking since!
Their wedding day was the ultimate celebration of that ten-year journey, filled with pops of colour, convenient wet weather plan implementations, and a community of vendors who felt more like family.
About their Day
A Rainy Proposal Turned Magic
Jay’s proposal was as authentic as their relationship. While away for a few nights, Jay became remarkably insistent on a walk in the rain. Despite Eliza being in a bit of a “bad mood”, they eventually reached a stunning lookout. In an instant, the rain didn’t matter – Jay was secretly grabbing something from his bag, then quickly on one knee with a ring. The mood shifted to pure joy, and the walk back was spent giggling like high school kids again.
The Vision: Colour and Connection
Eliza has always had a passion for colour, and her vision for the day was clear: colourful, floral vibes with a relaxed and fun atmosphere and a country wedding aesthetic.
While every couple dreams of a perfect sunny day, Eliza and Jay’s wedding reminded us why having a solid “Plan B” is so vital. Even though they had to pivot to their indoor backup option, Eliza noted that seeing her vision finally come together as she walked down the aisle, surrounded by vibrant florals and her loved ones was her absolute favourite moment.
“That was the moment I knew it was happening and that my vision had truly come together.” — Eliza
Navigating the “Near Disasters”
No wedding story is complete without a few “did that really happen?” moments!

The Dress Rescue: In a true heart-stopping moment, a glass broke on a friend’s hand during photos, leaving glass and blood on Eliza’s dress. This is where the Rocklea Bridal Suite truly earns its worth – Eliza’s mum was able to use the suite’s facilities to get the stains out immediately.
A Feast to Remember
For their menu, Rocklea Farm offers flexible catering options which the couple chose a sit-down style curated by The Tipsy Colt. While the main meal was incredible, the real crowd-pleaser was a canapé hour standout: the mini cheeseburgers, which Eliza noted everyone absolutely loved.
DIY Without the Stress
Eliza and Jay embraced the “Rocklea Way”- the freedom of a DIY venue without ever feeling like they were on their own. Between our dedicated planners and the on-day coordination team, we worked behind the scenes to ensure the small details, and the big “Plan B” implementation on the morning of, were handled seamlessly.
Eliza’s Words of Wisdom:
“Trust the vendors that you have chosen! Remain open, honest and flexible with them and listen to their advice because they really do know best… Don’t stress the small stuff, the day goes too quickly to not embrace every moment!”
